Canadian Sheep Genetics International Inc. is dedicated to selecting the best available sheep and goat genetics in Canada . Our rigorous selection process starts at the farm not only assessing the quality of the animal being selected, but also the remainder of the flock to ensure a consistent breeding program. CSGI team members look at the parentage, siblings and other offspring to determine the overall quality of the breeding flock. We get to know the breeders to understand what they are trying to achieve, in order to match those qualities to the needs of our international and domestic clients. Once the quality has been established; the animals are then assessed by either local CFIA accredited veterinarians or our Veterinarian team from OVATECH Genetics Inc. Blood samples are taken and other tests are performed to verify the health status of each animal and when all tests are complete the animal may be certified for entry into the CFIA approved semen/embryo collection facility just outside of Calgary , Alberta Canada.
